Seattle
History - But once this city, Seattle, was
flooded out of its original location in the 1850’s
and, it….shifted. The land shifted that is to
where it is today.During World War I it became a large
industrial center and the city began to prosper and
grow.
In 1960 Boeing Airline Corporation
moved into the area and employed at least one out
of every five residents that were of working age.
That is more than the majority of Seattle’s
workforce. This led to continued growth and prosperity
in the area.
During the 1990’s Seattle consistently
was to hit the tops of the lists as one of the most
desirable places to live in America. They took this
honor very seriously and continued to improve the
way of life in the city and surrounding areas. With
such huge economic boosts to the area and huge corporations
such as Microsoft and internet shopping site biggie
Amazon.com moving into the city many people come to
the area to live and work. It also brought a small
but troublesome problem to the area. That was traffic
and its troubles and solutions were brought to the
forefront. Tons and tons of traffic that no one had
expected and they really didn’t know how to
deal with it.
In 2001 an earthquake hit the Seattle Area
in the month of February and scared a lot of the local
residents. Now the city continues to grow and boom.
Traffic is still a nuisance, but they got used to
it as most large cities do. The city has so much to
offer residents and tourists alike.
Seattle was named after a Native
American Chief named Seath and with all of their hearts
the people of the city of Seattle welcome you and
wish you to return again and again. We’re sure
that you will love your stay in this fine city.
